The annual official celebration of the start of another men’s and women’s Kentucky Basketball season, Big Blue Madness, will take place tonight at 7:00 in Rupp Arena. The event will be televised live on the SEC Network, as Cats fans will get their chance to get a glimpse of this year’s men’s and women’s teams. Fans were treated to a preview on Sunday night, as the men’s team had their annual Pro Day, also televised by the SEC Network, but this is the official kick-off to the 2019-2020 season, which will tip-off for real in less than 4 weeks.

As always, many high-profile recruits will also be in attendance to witness the spectacle that is Big Blue Madness, and fans will have their chance to show how much the BBN loves its basketball and the players that wear the Blue and White. Here is a rundown of the ten recruits for men’s basketball that are expected to be front and center when the lights come on tonight.

In the 2020 class, Cade Cunningham‍ is the talk of UK fans, with the revelation that he very well may end up a Wildcat when all is said and done. Cade is the #2 recruit over-all and is a huge piece to what could be an all-time great backcourt for next season. His recruitment is coming down to a battle between two Bluebloods, Kentucky and North Carolina, and Oklahoma State, where his brother was hired not long ago.

Also, two current commits for the 2020 class will be in attendance. Recently re-classified Terrence Clarke‍, a 6-7 swingman out of Brewster Academy in Boston, MA, and Lance Ware‍, a 6-9 forward out of Camden High School, in Camden, NJ.

In addition, local Bardstown High School player, JJ Traynor, a 6-8 long and athletic forward, rounds out the 2020 attendees. Traynor’s recruitment is coming down to a battle among local schools, including Cincinnati, Xavier, and Western Kentucky, but he may ultimately be deciding between UK and UofL when it’s all said and done.

Attendees in the 2021 class include #3 ranked Paolo Banchero‍, a 6-9 235 pound forward out of Seattle, WA, #9 ranked Moussa Cisse‍, a 6-9 210 pound forward out of Memphis, TN, and #61 Trey Kaufman, a 6-8 210 pound forward, out of Sellersburg, IN. All three of these players have been visited by a member of the UK staff in the past two weeks, and are of high interest to Calipari. Banchero projects to be an immediate impact player in college and is highly coveted by everyone. Cisse is viewed as a Memphis lean, but that is not official yet, and Kaufman has recently caught the eye of the UK staff, as Joel Justus visited him just 8 days ago.

Attendees in the 2022 class include Brandon Miller, a 6-6 wing player out of Antioch, TN, James Jewell, a 6-5 guard out of Eastern High School in Louisville, and Paul McMillan IV, a 6-1 point guard out of Cincinnati, OH. While it is early on in these recruitments, Calipari, the staff, and the fans will get a chance to make a memorable first impression on these young men.

Basketball season is officially upon us, and while fans are obviously excited for this 2019-2020 season, recruiting never stops, nor does looking to the future. The future would be blindingly bright if Cade Cunningham is added to next year’s class, and John Calipari will have the power of the Big Blue Nation assisting him tonight in trying to make that happen. See you in Rupp, boys.
