Four-Star Defensive End Samuel Anaele Commits to Kentucky

June 30, 2019

Kentucky picked up a huge Yahtzee, both figuratively and literally. Four-star defensive end, Samuel Anaele, has committed to Kentucky after recently de-committing from Miami; the news was first reported by Justin Rowland of Cats Illustrated. Rumors had been circulating of this move for a while now, and if you are a premium member to Big Blue Banter, you had a feeling this would happen.

Anaele is 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, and his film shows he knows how to use that size. Out of Carol City in Miami, Anaele is playing top talent down in the sunshine state. His four-star rating comes from his dominant play as a massive prospect that has the talent to be interchangeable along the defensive line. He can line up with his hand in the dirt or off the edge, and he can play inside and out on the defensive line.

With that said, his future at Kentucky will be as a defensive end likely with his hand in the dirt, and he is the Wildcats first 2020 commitment at the position. He is libel to get paired with another four-star defensive end target on Kentucky’s radar. He is the Cats fourth commit on the defensive side of the football. Mark Stoops and company managed to steal him from his home town team, which is impressive and shows the growing impact and success Kentucky is having in the sunshine state.

Anaele had a total of 14 offers, highlighted by Miami, Florida, Michigan and others. He is a top 100 player and top five in his position. This a big time commitment for Kentucky as their 2020 class has taken impressive shape. From now until December, the Cats are likely to only take around eight or nine more commits, so the commits will be chosen carefully.
