5-Star Offensive Guard Justin Rogers Commits To Kentucky

Justin Rogers, a highly-touted recruit out of Oak Park, Michigan, committed to Kentucky over Michigan, Tennessee, Georgia, and others today. Rogers was down to five schools, but then Alabama came in to add a sixth to his list. Michigan and LSU were also very much in the mix, but Kentucky ends up getting their highest rated recruit in school history after being his first offer.

Rogers has connections with the blue and white, as he was teammates with sophomore nose tackle Marquan McCall. The Michigan pipeline coaches Vince Marrow, Mark Stoops, and Steven Clinkscale have opened up has been on a hot streak of late.

Rogers is rated a 5-star offensive guard, but there have been rumblings of him wanting to play on the defensive side of the football. This would be a great team chemistry move. Either way, Rogers is one of those players that has star potential on both sides of the ball. He is special.

On film, Rogers pops out with his aggressive style of play. He is a good athlete for his size and plays to the whistle. He will improve his technique under John Schlarman, but he has the tools to be great.

Kentucky has built a solid foundation for the 2020 recruiting class, and it looks like it might end up being their most impressive of the Mark Stoops era. This is a massive piece that can make the choice to Lexington for others even more attractive. In the mean time, Kentucky keeps building off of their impressive 2018 season.
