Autumn Humes allowed no earned runs and junior slugger, Alex Martens had two clutch hits as  #21 Kentucky picked up their second win in a row over a ranked opponent as they downed #23 James Madison 6-1 in the final day of the 2019 ESPN St.Pete/ Clearwater Elite Invitational. Kentucky moves to 6-5 in the season with wins over Hofstra, Utah, #19 Oregon, and #23 James Madison in this event.

James Madison took the early lead when they scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the secon inning. The game remained a pitchers dual until the Cats broke through in the top of the fifth behind a big, bases clearing triple from Alex Martens to put Kentucky up, 3-1.

Jenny Schaper wold add a run with a long ball of her own in the top of the seventh and Martens would knock a run-run bomb shortly after to secure the 6-1 win for the Cats.
