Running Back AJ Rose Announces Return to Kentucky for 2020

January 9, 2020

Running back AJ Rose will return to Kentucky for his senior season in 2020. Rose is the most experienced back on the roster, and he doubled his yards from 2018 to 2019. He has played behind Benny Snell for two seasons and was still in a crowded backfield the past season with the emergence of Kavosiey Smoke and Chris Rodriguez. That three-headed monster will return for Eddie Gran behind another great offensive line from John Schlarman.

Kentucky is at its best when they establish the run, and everyone knows that. All three of these backs offer different looks, but Rose is the best breakaway guy at the position right now. It will be interesting to see how they split up time, also if we get more looks out of the backfield as pass catchers. Rose is the best back capable of doing that, and his return is major for a couple of reasons. For one, his experience, and two, another year of a loaded backfield.

Kentucky has three very capable runners coming back in 2020 on top of the return of Terry Wilson.
