Just a few hours away from the newly signed recruits faxes come in and join the 20 signed commitments that took advantage of the early signing in the period on Dec. 20. Kentucky has two unsigned commitments including Ala. wide receiver LiAllen Dailey and Fla. offensive tackle Nick Lewis. Kentucky feels good about finishing the 2018 class strong. Let’s take a look at who the Cats look good to land.

Four-star Ohio Linebacker Chris Oats. Oats was seemingly down to Ohio State and Kentucky. In most cases, the Buckeyes would win the recruiting battle, but this year, I don’t see that happening. Oats was scheduled to take an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend, but canceled and took an unofficial visit to Kentucky instead. Kentucky chances look very good as he would be a huge pickup for the Cats.

Three-star Ala. Running Back Kavoisey Smoke is not nearly as easy to pick with him considering Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Kentucky was his last official visit two weeks ago. Sources have told B3 that Kentucky is feeling confident they will land Smoke. If the staff lands Smoke and Oats, that is a strong finish for the staff.

I know many have asked me about Trevon Flowers since his official visit. The former UK Baseball signee wants to play both sport. Kentucky is going against some stiff competition for Flowers with Tennessee and Clemson being the other suitors for his signature. However, just my opinion, I do think Flowers signs elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean Kentucky doesn’t have a surprise in store.

Sources have indicated a potential surprise could happen during National Signing Day. I am not saying one will happen, but Coach Stoops always has something up his sleeve.
