I haven’t done one of these lately, and with National Signing Day coming up in the next few weeks, it’s time to look at what is left on the 2018 recruiting board and look ahead of a couple of important visitors on campus in the 2019 today.

Kentucky is trying to keep Xavier Peters commitment while fending off SEC power Florida and ACC powers Miami and Florida State. Peters is set to visit those three in the next two weeks. Sources from Kentucky side don’t seem to be too worried, however, you never know with recruiting as it can change on a daily basis.

As for the other four open spots left in the class, several recruits are officially visiting this weekend. Let’s take a look at who they are.

POSSIBLE ‘CATS

Alabama running back Kavosiey Smoke. With Bryant Koback transferring away; the running back position became thin. Smoke is high on the board, if not the number one target, for the running back position. The 6-foot, 215-pound would be a major get for the Kentucky staff with Smoke visiting North Carolina last week. Smoke is considered a three-star prospect at 247 Sports.

Another Alabama prospect is a wide receiver in LiAllen Dailey. With several WR’s not returning and the transfer of Javonte Richardson, much like running backs, UK is in need of another wide receiver in this class. Dailey’s only official visit planned so far is this weekend at Kentucky. The Cats’ obviously took the lead in his recruitment when they offered him. This weekend visit could lead to a commitment from Dailey. He was starting to garner interest from Mississippi State and Auburn before Kentucky offered. Dailey is rated a three-star prospect at 247 Sports.

Kentucky is hosting a massive, literally, offensive lineman that is currently committed to a Pac-12 school. Washington State commit Nick Lewis is visiting Kentucky this weekend. Lewis did not sign during the early signing period and is high on the Cats. If the Cats were to push hard, I do think he could flip to Kentucky. Lewis stands at 6-foot-8, 348-pounds. He is a rated as a three-star offensive tackle at 247 Sports.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019 VISITORS

Kentucky is hosting two key in-state 2019 visitors this weekend.

247 Sports three-star rated defensive end JJ Weaver will be unofficially visiting the Cats this weekend. Kentucky has struggled some getting kids out of Louisville, but this is a good sign to get Weaver to visit. Kentucky did visit him earlier the week. Weaver stands at 6-foot-6, 230-pounds.

Kentucky will also be hosting 247 Sports rated three-star all-purpose back, Wandale Robinson. Robinson is an explosive player and routinely turns small gains into huge plays. The Cats are in good position for the 5-foot-8, 180-pound junior. Robinson and Kentucky have formed a strong relationship with Kentucky in the driver seat early on in his recruitment.
