UK announced that the annual Spring Game will be held under the lights of Kroger Field on Friday, April 13th at 6:30 pm. It will also be televised on the SEC Network. Most Spring Games should be taken with a grain of salt but I view this one differently. The beloved Stephen Johnson era as QB1 has come to a close and Friday, April 13th, will be the start of a new era. Will it be Gunnar? Will it be Terry Touchdown? It all starts that night at 6:30. Whoever takes over the reigns will have a number of weapons at his disposal and a defense returning essentially everyone. What’s not to be excited about?
We can’t wait to play under those Friday night lights, #BBN.

The Basketball Cats will be traveling to Morgantown, West Virginia for a 7 p.m. Saturday matchup with the seventh ranked Mountaineers. They will certainly be walking into a hostile crowd with ESPN’s College Gameday show in town. Also, WVU announced a “Stripe the Coliseum”. Fans are being asked to wear Blue and Gold in designated sections. This road trip will be as tough as any for the young Cats.
UK Football Recruiting
UK football has extended an offer to 2019 Defensive End Joseph Anderson. The 6’4″ 265 Anderson is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee’s Siegel High School and has a handsome list of offers. Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan, Georgia, Louisville, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Penn St. just to name a few. The Cats have had some luck with edge rushers over the years and could see that trend continue if they could land Anderson.

Joel Justus visited with 2019 Combo Guard Jalen Lecque on Wednesday. The 6’4″ Arden (N.C.) Christ product has been rumored to potentially reclassify to the 2018 class but currently sits in the 2019 class. He is ranked #9 in the 247 composite rankings. His skill set has drawn comparisons to Russell Westbrook as a high school recruit.

The XFL is back. WWE founder, Vince McMahon, announced Thursday that the league will make its return in 2020. It will feature 8 teams and a two round playoff. This time round, Vince says player safety will be much more of a concern. Three Quarterbacks that McMahon would like to see on XFL rosters? “Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow and Colin Kaepernick.” UK legend, Jared Lorenzen has even thrown his name around as a possibility.
